Disability Employment

The SourceAmerica Pathways to Careers® (Pathways) program uses customized employment strategies to help people with significant disabilities secure jobs that are aligned with their skills, interests, strengths, and abilities. Mathematica is evaluating Pathways and early findings have shown an increase in employment and earnings among participants. Pathways can offer lessons to employment service providers on how to engage employers in offering job opportunities, adapt delivery of services in response to COVID-19, and work with state and local agencies to establish strategies that strengthen and sustain service delivery.

Mathematica’s Center for Studying Disability Policy held a webinar on September 24, 2020, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. ET for an interactive webinar featuring a live-streamed discussion with program managers from two Pathways sites about how they implemented the program, adapted use of customized employment strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic, and promoted systems change to encourage employment of people with disabilities. The speakers explored SourceAmerica’s plans to make elements of Pathways more broadly available to employment service providers.

Speakers included the following:

  • Noelle Denny-Brown, Mathematica
  • Shane Kanady, SourceAmerica
  • James Willis, JVS Human Services
  • Jennifer Kellett, ServiceSource
  • Lisa Mills, Marc Gold & Associates
